Ismail Bacchus
The innkeeper. He reached the island the same way you did — carried by water — and stayed. He listens more than he talks.
"Ismail Bacchus, at your service: everyone drinks and talks here, and I listen. What can I get you?"
#Role
Ismail keeps the inn, raised from wreck planks. It's where the island's stories gather — and, upstairs, the casino.
#Lore
He's the only craftsman who didn't inherit his trade:
"On this island everyone inherited their trade from their father — I chose mine. I couldn't fell a tree or beat iron. But I could listen. That was enough."
He arrived like any castaway: a storm broke his ship on the coast, years ago. Ever since, he remembers the ships of everyone who passes through his door.
⚠What he knows about you
Ismail tells you he remembers every castaway's ships — "and yours too, traveller — all four of them." Those four ships are the thread tying your arrival to the ORIGIN campaign.
#What you can learn from him
Ismail is the village's best source of lore. Among other things, he tells you what Aethelgard is:
"Aethelgard, traveller. An island, not a continent — though big enough that some swear it has no end. The sea spat it out once and never took it back."
