Woodcutting
You fell a tree through a ~30-second channel, cutting a real notch into the trunk. The tree physically falls, then you buck the fallen logs.
Woodcutting isn't "hold click on a block". It's a long, publicly visible action, and at the end of it the tree actually falls.
#Which trees can be felled
Only trees in the forestry registry. The ordinary forest around you is scenery: an axe won't start any channel on it.
#The tool you need
You need an axe of the tree's tier and the Woodcutting profession at that tier. The axe can be in your hand or in the TOOLS slot — both work.
A tier 1 axe costs 150 coins.
#Interaction distance
Right-click the trunk with the axe. Your character walks into position by itself. If you move more than 6 blocks away, the channel cancels.
#The chopping animation
While the channel runs:
- your character is locked in the animation — no moving, no jumping, the camera stays fixed;
- a real V-shaped notch is cut into the trunk, through 8 depth stages, visible to every player nearby.
| Channel duration | ~30 seconds |
| Profession reduction | up to −40 % |
| Cancel on purpose | hold CTRL (sneak) |
| Forced cancel | moving over 6 blocks away, or being hit |
#The trunk falling
At the end the tree physically falls — a block-display animation that crushes entities underneath it.
#Bucking the logs
Fallen logs are bucked with exactly 2 hits each. Every log gives you one "Raw Log" bundle of the tree's tier.
#Loot
For a fully harvested tree:
| Tier | Logs | Extra material | Pay (Woodcutter) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 2 | — | 2 coins |
| 2 | 3 | resin ×1–2 | 3 coins |
| 3 | 4 | resin ×1–2 | 5 coins |
| 4 | 6 | imperial wood ×1 | 8 coins |
| 5 | 8 | hard essence ×1 | 12 coins |
On tier 3 trees there's also a 5 % chance for the Forest Sprite to appear.
#Regrowth
A felled tree comes back after 240–480 seconds (4–8 minutes). There's no point waiting — move to the next one.
#Rewards
- Woodcutting profession progress — see Professions.
- Job pay, per tier (table above).
- The base materials for crafting, furniture and wands.
